Well, seems our Carlyle letter writer wants quotas on the frequency of letters published from several named authors, including me. He wrote I’ve had three letters printed in 19 days. Make that four as the same day his letter was published, one of mine was concerning the Rams moving to Los Angeles, hardly political fodder.
My previous letter corrected the Hatch Act pertaining to local political races and another defended Rodger and Dallas Cook, neither of whom live in Clinton County. Unless our Carlyle friend owns property in St. Clair County and pays taxes like I do, I’m not sure of his interest in MidAmerica, judges dodging retention votes, issues with some local political candidates and poverty below the hill, which I have written about.
I’m sure life is swell 37 miles away in Carlyle, good for him. But as long as we have issues here in St. Clair County, then I intend to keep ringing the bell. As for his obsession with President George Bush, I really believe most BND readers are no longer interested in that old canard. Controls and quotas on freedom of speech, sounds like a directive from the Geheime Staatspolizei — the Gestapo.
