“You’ve got to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything.” That is a quote that reminds me so much of County Board Member John West.
John West stands for strong principles that have guided him through his life. As a mathematics instructor at Southwestern Illinois College for over 40 years he was able to help students achieve their best.
As a community leader for over 30 years, he has set the bar high for any elected official and as a County Board Member and an Alderman in O’Fallon, John made sure he knocked on every door in his district so that he could personally know each family he represented.
I have never met a public official who is willing to spend so much of his personal time to help the people he represents. John has helped hundreds of homeowners save thousands of dollars by getting their property taxes reduced by the County Assessor’s Office.
He has made it possible for roads, sidewalks, sewers, and more to get built, repaired and improved. No request is too small or too big for him to tackle.
I have come to know John over the last 20 years as a neighbor, a friend and my representative in the city and county. He is what is right with the government and we cannot afford to lose him.
Stand with John West on March 15 as he has stood with you. Vote for John West in the March Republican primary.
Phil Goodwin, O’Fallon City Clerk
