I see Sen. Claire McCaskill in the news about getting a World War II veteran his Bronze Star earned during the war. However, any family member can help a veteran by obtaining SF 180 from any Veterans Affairs Facility and filling it out along with a copy of AGO 214. Korean War, Vietnam War or current/former members DD 214 take the above mentioned form and follow the directions for mailing it to the appropriate agency.
Every year Congress sets aside funds for military awards and decorations which were never awarded or were lost, for free. SF 180 is a Xerox reproducible form. You don’t need a senator or congressman.
