Regarding Jane Klopfenstein’s letter about sentencing guidelines, she should get her facts straight. I quit reading after the second lie about sentencing.
First, I know of at least three separate people who were first-time offenders caught selling a pound of marijuana who got probation, no jail time. Second, felons aren’t excluded from getting food stamps.
If she wants people to get on board with her cause, she should perhaps tell the truth and quit the sob story about poor old criminals that didn’t deserve jail time. I submit that those “innocents,” as she claims, had more than a one-time drug offense.
