The selection of the North St. Louis site for the new NGA headquarters is ridiculous. The St. Clair County site meets all the requirements of this facility and will be over $100 million cheaper.
But the other problem with this choice is that it was made by one person. Who thinks that makes any sense? It takes 12 jurors to decide if a person is guilty of stealing a car worth $5,000, but one man decides how hundreds of millions of dollars of our taxes will be spent. That has political corruption and self-promotion written all over it.
No decision that has this much importance should be in the hands of one person, especially one that isn’t too bright.
