Maybe someone can enlighten me on a couple of things because I am not the sharpest pencil in the box. First and foremost is the Wounded Warrior project. I think it is a great endeavor and necessary, but why should it be? This is a slap in the face to this country’s veterans. This great country is responsible to take 100 percent care of our veterans whether it be injury received by any of this country’s conflicts or illness such as Agent Orange, mental breakdowns, etc. I do think we are on the right path to correct this with leaders like Congressman Mike Bost and his staff stepping in and making this country aware.
Another subject near and dear to my heart is the fact our judicial system is beginning to get tougher on animal abusers such as this scumbag in Shiloh that killed his girlfriend’s dog with a hammer. I agree with letter writer Jim Walters that these sick individuals should be on a one-way flight to Mars or any other planet except this one, because the next time it could be the girlfriend herself that gets the hammer. When other sickos hear punishment is only a slap on the wrist they will follow suit and take their cruelty out on poor animals who only want our love and do not understand why they are being hurt. Jail time will cure a lot of that. By the way kudos to Partners For Pets; they are a wonderful organization.
