Calvary Lutheran Church in Belleville, stands with the families, friends and the community of those who were senselessly murdered in Orlando on June 12. In John 13:34 Jesus says, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.”
In January, 2016, Calvary became a Reconciling in Christ community which means we truly welcome all. At calvarybelleville.org our affirmation statement begins with “We welcome all who are seeking God’s love and grace. We welcome all because God welcomes all regardless of race or culture, sexual orientation or gender identity, or relationship status.”
We invite everyone to join us on Sundays at 10 a.m. for worship, and for a special prayer service on June 22 at 7 p.m. to pray for comfort and healing for the families and friends of those who died in Orlando and an end to the violence and discrimination aimed at the LGBTQ community.
