Boxing helped him overcome the loss of his mother. Now he’s won a Golden Gloves title.

Larry Wade, a resident of Alorton, Illinois, recently won the super heavyweight championship of the St. Louis, MO Golden Gloves novice division. He started at the Belleville, IL Boxing Club in 2011 as mental diversion from the death of his beloved mother.

The Lindenwood University Belleville, IL, Lynx men’s basketball team lost to the Park University Pirates 80-57 in Belleville, IL. The No. 23 ranked Lindenwood University Belleville, IL, Lady Lynx women’s basketball team beat the Park University Pirates 111-63 in Belleville, IL.

McKendree basketball teams fall to Southern Indiana

The Lebanon, IL, McKendree University Bearcats men’s basketball team lost to the University of Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles 81-67 in Evansville, IN. The Lebanon, IL, McKendree University Bearcats women’s basketball team also lost to the University of Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles, 70-48, in Evansville, IN.

Larry Wade, 27, of Alorton, IL, took up boxing in 2011 after the death of his mother. After three exhibition fights, he won his first bout and the St. Louis, MO Golden Gloves novice division super heavyweight title.
