Ankiel's hit give Cards dramatic win

Rick Ankiel slapped a two-run, two-out single to right field in the ninth inning to cap a three-run rally and lead the St. Louis Cardinals to a 5-4 win over the Chicago Cubs on Saturday.

Cards collect a win worth savoring

If the St. Louis Cardinals earn a spot in the playoffs, it's likely they will point to Saturday as one of the defining moments of their season. Rick Ankiel's two-out, two-run single to center against closer Kerry Wood highlighted a three-run ninth that lifted the Cardinals to a 5-4 victory over the Chicago Cubs before a record crowd of 46,865 at Busch Stadium.
