The Gateway Grizzlies are teaming up with Edison's Entertainment Complex in Edwardsville to host the 2014 Grizzlies Preseason Meet and Greet.
The event at Edison's, 2477 South State Route 157 in Edwardsville, will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Grizzlies' players and coaches will mingle with the fans and also have an autograph session. Admission to the event is free, but amenities are not included. Fans will have the opportunity to play laser tag and also bowl with players.
The Grizzlies will be auctioning off tickets and prizes during the event.
Edison's Entertainment Complex has inventive eats and drinks, including housemade appetizers, sandwiches, salads and entrees. Their beautiful bar has shuffleboard and a huge projection screen TV, along with a conversation area around the fireplace. There is plenty of outdoor seating on the patio with its large stone fireplace.
The 12 lanes of boutique bowling offer soft seating and projection screen TVs for comfort and entertainment, along with lane service for guests' food and beverage needs. The laser tag and arcade keep everyone happy with friendly competition.
Last week, Gateway entered with 36 players on the roster.
The Grizzlies fell at Southern Illinois in the first exhibition game of 2014, but they won the next three preseason games last week. The team scored 27 runs in four exhibition games, including 10 on Wednesday against the Miners and 10 runs again on Friday against the Frontier Greys.
On Saturday, manager Phil Warren released 10 players from the roster. Warren will have to cut the group from 26 players to 24 players by Opening Night this Friday.

It comes from Grizzlies' second year pitcher Tucker Jensen, who's expected to be a big part of this year's starting rotation.
Regarding this 2014 Grizzlies group, he said: "This team has the best potential that we've had in a long time. Early on, it's like we've been together for a while. We're all here playing the same game. We have the same goals. It's a bunch of great guys."
The Grizzlies 2014 regular season opener is Friday when they take on the Traverse City Beach Bums at GCS Ballpark.
The first 1,000 fans to arrive at the ballpark will receive a magnet schedule presented by GCS Credit Union and we'll have fireworks after the game.
Saturday night's game starts at 7:05 p.m. The first 1,000 fans will get a scroll pen presented by Quantum Vision Centers.
On Sunday, it's American Heart Association Day at the ballpark. As always, kids can run the bases right after the game.
