Gateway Grizzlies starting pitcher Tucker Jensen has been selected by Pointstreak as the Frontier League Pitcher of the Week.
Jensen, a right-hander from Ormond Beach, Fla., fired eight marvelous innings Sunday night as the Grizzlies picked up their first shutout road win of the season in a 7-0 victory against the Traverse City Beach Bums.
Jensen, 24, scattered three hits, walked only one and struck out six while notching his first win since June 25th.
"It was fun to watch," Grizzlies manager Phil Warren said after Jensen"s performance. "He threw strikes and kept the hitters off balance all night."
The shutout win Sunday was the fifth of the season for the Grizzlies They also completed their fifth series sweep of the season and second on the road to remain two games ahead of River City in the West Division.
Through 11 starts in 2014, Jensen has a 6-2 record and a 3.75 ERA in a team-high 72 innings.
