More than 70 boxers will participate in the Arthur "Flash" Johnson Boxing Tournament at the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Center in East St. Louis Thursday through Saturday.
Doors open nightly at 7 p.m. with a $10 daily admission.
Registration was opened until Wednesday, June 8, so the schedule of bouts is not officially set. But Johnson, a former U.S. Olympian and flyweight champion, said there will be at least eight bouts per session in multiple weight divisions.
Saturday's championship finale could have up to 18 bouts with one- or two-minute rounds.
Never miss a local story.
Boxers will range from beginning to 37-year-old veterans. Proceeds benefit the Arthur Johnson Foundation in East St. Louis.
