The Lindenwood University-Belleville football program recently teamed up with the US Army to host a football camp for local high school athletes. A total of 67 participants showed up for the inaugural Southwestern Illinois Regional Football Combine, to show off their talents to four local colleges, as they looked to gain notoriety.
This event gave the athletes an opportunity to develop, as well as showcase their football skills. Half of the day was scheduled for technique instruction while the other half was left for evaluation of skills.
Camp Director and Defensive Coordinator Mike Harrison talked about the success of the camp.
"It was the inaugural Southwestern Illinois Regional Combine and we look forward to continuing to host the event and a long lasting partnership with the US Army," saidd Harrison. "The Belleville and Fairview Heights US Army Recruiting Team did an outstanding job helping us to put on the event and it would not have been successful without them and their help."
