Tigers knock off East soccer
The Edwardsville Tigers knocked Belleville East from the ranks of the undefeated with a 3-1 win on Tuesday in a Southwestern Conference soccer game.
The Tigers (4-0-1) received goals from Ethan Miracle, Cooper Nolan and Josh Reed. Belleville East (5-1) received its only goal of the game from Tyler Lane.
Kahoks upset Maroons

The Collinsville Kahoks (2-3) notched a 5-3 victory over the Belleville West Maroons (3-2-1) Wednesday.
West had a strong first half keeping the Kahoks to one goal but were unable to continue their scoring dominance into the second half. Garrett Bass and Xavier Brown started the game off with two goals for the Maroons while Sam Huster scored first for Collinsville.
Luke Liljegren, Trey Przybysz, and Ruben Ortiz brought the Kahoks back to give them a 4-3 lead and Blake Williams added the final goal for good measure.
West goalkeeper Josh McIntosh suffered his first loss of the season. James Wiegers started for the Maroons and made 4 of 5 saves.
The Maroons bench has come out strong in their first six games with Brown leading the team with eight goals and one assist. Bass leads the Maroons in assists with six and five goals.
Leading the Kahoks with five points each is Liljegren and Przybysz who are each tied with one goal and three assists on the season.
West returns home after three straight on the road for a 6 p.m. game against Waterloo (2-4) on Thursday. Collinsville hits the road for Chatham Glenwood (3-1), also Thursday at 6 p.m.
McMinn leaders Panthers golf
O’Fallon senior Briana McMinn shot a 1-over 37 to lead the Panthers to a convincing win over Belleville East in a girls golf match on Tuesday at Clinton Hill Golf Course in Belleville. Brooke Boatman added a 38, while Alyssa McMinn and Emily Marrs added rounds of 40 for O’Fallon which finished with a score of 155.
