The Mascoutah Indians rebounded from their first loss of the season with 4-0 shutout of Centralia on Friday.
Sam Schiller scored two of the Indians’ goals and picked up an assist. It was his fourth game-winning goal of the season and his team-leading 17th goal of the season.
Logan Cox and Malik Wilkes found the back of the goal for the other two Mascoutah scores. Kyle Frerker, Christian Gonzalez and Alec Marshall tallied assists on three goals.
Goalkeeper Austin Heriford got the solo shutout, his fourth shutout on the season. He now sits at 9-0 on the year. Heriford has allowed just six goals.
The Indians (9-1) will play Freeburg at 4:15 p.m. Monday.
Columbia rolls past Wesclin
Columbia took a four-goal halftime lead over Wesclin and didn’t look back, defeating the Warriors 6-1.
Jon Kuebler, Columbia’s goalkeeper, improved to 10-0-1 in his senior season.
Tony Ribolzi led the Eagles with two goals. Jake Bridges got credit for the game-winner.
Riley Hubler added his 12th goal of the season, which leads Columbia. Alex Barton and Bryce Paulter found the back of the net as well. Barton, Cameron Eden, Max Erb, Tyler Hoguet, Micah Peters and Sam Spivey each got assists.
Both teams return to action at 4:30 p.m. Monday. Columbia (10-0-1) is at Highland, and Wesclin (1-6) will host Wood River.
