Mitchell Kidd’s and Nathan Petry’s goals pushed Althoff (3-4-1) to a 2-1 South Seven Conference win over Carbondale on Saturday.
Kidd scored twice in the game and Petry once. Jimmy Monken and Mason Wagner had assists.
The win marks Althoff’s second of the season as they improve to 2-4-1 overall. The loss is only Carbondale’s third of the season, now 8-3 overall.
Althoff returns to O’Fallon Park against Marion at 5 p.m. Monday.

West ties with Marquette
Belleville West played Alton Marquette to a 1-1 tie.
West (5-2-3) got its lone goal from Garrett Bass. Assisting was Joey Pearson. Bass and Xavier Brown are tied for the team lead in goals with 10.
Senior James Wiegers saved seven of eight Explorers shots to improve to 5-3-1.
The Maroons next face Althoff at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Highland beats Mater Dei in overtime
Highland deafeted Mater Dei 2-1 in overtime.
Mater Dei (5-5) scored first on an unassisted goal by Banco Lo.
Highland (3-5) answered back with goals by Evan Herman and Drake Gehrs.
Robert Sigman and Destin Vogel split time for Highland in goal. Sigman left the field with a .667 save percentage saving two of three. Vogel had one save. Nathan Kuhl took the loss for the Knights.
Mater Dei meets Alton at 5 p.m. Monday and Highland plays Columbia at 4:15 p.m. Monday at Glik Park.
Granite City wins first game of the season
Granite City (1-7) earned its first win of the season in a 2-1 battle against Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin (3-4).
Zach Medlin had a goal for the Warriors and was credited for an assist in a goal by Ymaury Escarene.
Braden Dickerson picked up his first win of the season in goal.
Granite City will play host to Marquette at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
