The St. Louis Cardinals will open the 2016 season on the road with six games against the Pittsburgh Pirates and Atlanta Braves.
The opener against the Pirates will be April 4 at a time to be announced. The season-opening trip includes three games against Pittsburgh and three against Atlanta. It marks the fifth consecutive year the Cardinals will open the season on the road, but it will be their first start in Pittsburgh since 1977.
The Cardinals’ home opener will be against Milwaukee at 3:15 p.m. on April 11.
St. Louis will welcome Houston (June 14-15), Texas (June 17-19), Kansas City (June 29-30) and Oakland (Aug. 26-28) to Busch Stadium for interleague play. The Los Angeles Angels and Albert Pujols will not play at Busch, but the Cardinals will play the Angels in Los Angeles on May 10-12.

Other road interleague series will be against Seattle (June 24-26), Kansas City (June 27-28) and Houston (Aug. 16-17).
For the first time in memory, the Cardinals will not play a weekend series at Busch Stadium against their No. 1 rival, the Chicago Cubs.
The Cubs will be in St. Louis for series Apri 18-20, May 23-25 and Sept. 12-14. All are Monday through Wednesday series.
The Cardinals will play the Cubs in Chicago on June 20-22, Aug. 11-14 and Sept. 23-25. The series in August and September will be held on weekends.
The Cardinals have two nine-game homestands and a 10-game homestand in the first two months of the season. They have just 10 home games in June, but will play just 10 road games in July.
The regular season finale is Oct. 2 against Pittsburgh at Busch Stadium.
