Rookie Stephen Piscotty smoked an RBI double that scored pinch-runner Peter Bourjos in the eighth inning Monday, lifting the St. Louis Cardinals to a one-run victory. Jhonny Peralta tied the game with a single to right that scored Tommy Pham, who had tripled, to make it 1-1. Bourjos ran for Peralta and scored on Piscotty's hit to left-center.

The victory was the 12th this season in which the Cardinals have trailed after seven innings. Last year, they had three such wins. ... Trevor Rosenthal registered his 47th save, tying Lee Smith and Jason Isringhausen for the single-season team record. ... Jonathan Broxton (3-5) pitched a scoreless eighth for the win. J.J.
