Cardinals infielder Brian Barden is the National League Rookie of the Month for April and Cardinals first sacker Albert Pujols is the Senior Circuit hitter of the month.
Barden, 28, hit .385 in 21 games with a .641 slugging percentage to lead NL rookies. He was second in on-base percentage: .432.

Other rookies drawing support were Washington hurler Jordan Zimmermann (2-0, 2.38 ERA), Rockies outfielder Dexter Fowler (.290 with nine stolen bases, including a five-bag haul on April 27 against San Diego) and Braves outfielder Jordan Schafer.
