Reportedly, the Cardinals are planning to disable Kyle Lohse after his aborted start Wednesday against the Reds.
No official word on who the team would promote to take Lohse's place. But talk is that it could be Jess Todd.
Todd, a highly touted prospect, has been working as the closer in Class AAA Memphis. So he may go into the Cardinals bullpen with Brad Thompson remaining a starter after a positive fill in for Joel Piniero earlier in the week.
Todd is 3-1 with a 2.96 ERA for Memphiis with 32 strikeouts and seven walks in 24 1/3 innings pitched.
