Check back later today to read excerpts from my interview with Judy Pace Flood, the widow of longtime Cardinals outfielder Curt Flood.
Mrs. Flood will make available some of her husband's most prized posessions from his personal collection of memoribilia this weekend at the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory Auction Nov. 14 in Louisville, KY.
Amongst the items going on the block are Flood's 1964 World Series ring, his 1993 Rawlings Gold Glove Award, his collection of autographed baseballs including one signed by civil rights icon Rosa Parks. The auction has several original artworks by Flood including a beautiful portrait of teammate Bob Gibson and several baseball-related cartoons.
