Catcher Yadier Molina hit one of the most memorible homers in Cardinals history, a tiebreaking ninth inning shot at Shea Stadium to help St. Louis beat the Mets 3-1 in Game 7 of the National League Championship Series.

It looked like third baseman Scott Rolen would get the glory in the previous inning when he hit a long fly ball to left field that New York outfielder Endy Chavez lept over the wall to catch. But Molina, who averages six home runs a year, picked the right time to go deep, driving in Rolen to lead the Birds to their eventual 10th World Series championship.
