Fox Sports Midwest drew the highest ratings in the country for Major League Baseball broadcasts, according to a story in the St. Louis Business Journal.
The network's 127 Cardinals broadcasts in 2010 drew an average rating of 9.5 this season -- or about 119,600 households -- up nearly 20 percent over a year ago, according to the report. The Cardinals broke a streak of six consecutive years that broadcasts of the Red Sox dominated the nationwide local broadcast ratings.
No word yet on if the favorable ratings report will translate into increased payroll for the 2011 Redbirds.
