The Chicago Tribune reports that the Astros might not be done dealing after all...
But they may be Dunn dealing.
Never miss a local story.
The paper said the Astros are rumored to be readying a one-year ofer to former Reds slugger who could minimize his poor range in the short left field at Minute Maid Park... if Houston didn't already have defensively challenged flychaser Carlos Lee filling the spot. It's tough to imagine either of them in the much larger space to cover in right field.
If the 'Stros made the signing, they would be gambling that the offense would make up for defensive liabilities. But a lineup with Miguel Tejada, Lance Berkman, Lee, and Dunn would give pitchers fits. Both opposing pitchers and Houston ones.
Hmmm... I wonder if team ace Roy Oswalt would welcome a 20-win, 5.00-ERA season that could come with a bunch of 8-6 wins.
