Word out of Detroit is that the Cardinals are talking to the Tigers about a trade that would bring utility man Ryan Raburn to St. Louis.
The Tigers are seeking a pitching prospect in return.
Raburn, who will be 28 in two weeks hit .236 last year over 182 at bats in Motown. His best year was 2007 when he hit .304 over 138 at bats. Raburn is capable of playing all three outfield positions and bats righthanded.
It would seem maybe the Cardinals aren't enamored with any of their utility man candidates, Brian Barden, Brendan Ryan or Joe Thurston.
Too bad this team didn't have room for Aaron Miles on the roster... Then if it needed an extra outfielder Skip Schumaker would have been available to play where he is most capable.
