Gary Sheffield told MLB-TV this morning that he has several teams interested in his services -- and they are all National League clubs.
He specifically mentioned interest in playing for the Phillies and the Marlins. He won a World Series with the fish once upon a time and is a Florida native. There are rumors floating that he is also being pursued by the Reds.
Sheffield has been primarily a designated hitter over the last few years. But he said he is perfectly comfortable with a return to the outfield. Still, he would probably prefer to play for his home town Rays in the American League if he had his preference. While it would appear Tampa Bay has no room for Shef, the Blue Jays might be looking for a DH.
