Yadi Molina, is making quite a name for himself on the global stage with his play in the World Baseball Classic.
Yadi hit a game-winning double to propel Puerto Rico to a win Monday over the powerhouse Dominican Republic squad in front of a packed stadium. The roar of the home crowd was deafening -- and he was so humbled that the ovation almost brought the Cardinals catcher to tears.
He's really developing a flair for the dramatic. And Molina has caught the attention of the national media, especially Yahoo columnist Jeff Passan who proclaimed that the double was the biggest hit of Yadi's career.
It's a huge personal moment for Yadi. And I'm thrilled to see him do so well. But I don't know if he will ever do anything to make Cardinals fans believe that his home run to win the National League Championship Series in 2006 wasn't his greatest on the field accomplishment.
While the roar in the World Baseball classic was fantastic, the silence on that rainy night in Shea Stadium was golden.
