The St. Louis Cardinals have removed Matt Holliday from their post-season roster for tonight's seventh game of the World Series.
Holliday, who had a collision in game six at third base on a pick-off play, reportedly had a finger injury when Rangers infielder Adrian Beltre blocked him from returning to third base on a throw from catcher Mike Napoli. But, according to Major League Baseball, Holliday was deactivated because of a sprained wrist.
Outfielder Adron Chambers has been added to the roster in Holliday's stead and Allen Craig is expected to take over in left field.
Napoli, who twisted his ankle in a play at second base, is expected to be able to play tonight. Rangers rightfielder Nelson Cruz had to leave game six with a pulled groin muscle. He is not expected to start game seven.
