A pair of former Cardinals infielders have found new homes.

Hector Luna, a St. Louis Rule 5 selection from Cleveland back in 2004, has signed a one year deal to play in Japan for the Chunichi Dragons.

Originally a shortstop, Luna has turned into a utility player, fielding every position except catcher in the majors. He played for St. Louis from 2004-06, batting .276 in 590 plate appearances.

Luna went back to Cleveland in a trade deadline deal in 2006 that brought Ronnie Belliard to to the Redbirds. After that he played for the Blue Jays, Marlins and Phillies, compiling a major league average of .262 with 15 home runs.

Luna's deal is for one year at the equivalent of $450,000.

Also landing a deal in a foreign country is Cesar Izturis who signed with Toronto. If he can make the major league roster, Cesar would get to play with his younger brother, Macier, who inked a three-year contract with the Blue Jays earlier this off-season.

Izturis played for St. Louis in 2008, batting .263 in 454 plate appearances.

His career started in Toronto back in 2001. But after one season Izturis was shipped to the Dodgers then played for the Cubs, Pirates, Orioles, Brewers and Nationals. He's a .255 career hitter over 12 seasons in the big leagues.
