Former Cardinals pitcher Jason Marquis has inked a one-year deal with the Padres, according to CBS Sports.
The contract calls for Marquis, who pitched for Minnesota and San Diego last season, to make $3 million.
Marquis was 6-7 with a 4.04 ERA after being signed by the Padres after starting 2-4 with an 8.47 ERA in Minnesota. The Twins released him on May 28.
The righthander made 15 starts and allowed 94 hits in 93 2/3 innings of work. He allowed 52 hits in 34 innings of work with Minnesota. Over the course of his career, Marquis has a 112-109 record with a 4.60 ERA. That includes a 42-37 record with a 4.60 ERA from 2004-2006 with St. Louis.
Marquis has also pitched for the Braves, Cubs, Rockies, Nationals and Diamondbacks.
