Here's a quick peek at how Cardinals players fares in the fall and winter leagues.

Major league catcher Yadier Molina apparently felt he needed an off-season tune up and has played in five games in the Puerto Rican winter league. There he's batting .227 with two RBIs and a stolen base.

Oscar Taveras tore up the Dominican League, which ended its season Friday, to the tune of a .318 batting average with five homers and 17 RBI in 38 games.

Second base prospect Kolten Wong was recognized by scouts as the most polished player in the Arizona Fall League where he hit .324 with a homer and 12 RBIs in 17 games.

Eduardo Sanchez tried to regain his form in the Venezuelan winter league. He made 15 appearances and pitched to a 4.02 ERA. But he pitched much better over his last 10 games when he allowed only eight hits in 11 1/3 innings and compiled a 3.18 ERA. He struck out 12 batters and walked four.
