Looking at the Cards from a fan's perspective

Another clunker of a Super Bowl is in the books and we can finally turn our attention wholly towards preparation for the true American sport: Baseball.

It's comforting to know there is less than a week and a half until pitchers and catchers report to spring training. Especially when the pre-season will finally be appropriately covered on television with at least 15 games set to be broadcast.

I really thought this was going to be an epic championship game. But it hit a sour note from the first play from scrimmage.

Even when the Cardinals lost the World Series last year, it was much more of in interesting and compelling fight.

Some people like to question if football has overtaken baseball as America's national sport. But all you have to do is watch the biggest games of the year to tell how much more interesting baseball is. And if it wasn't, football wouldn't be toying with ideas like eliminating the extra point.

If their game was so swell, the wouldn't be talking about making such a fundamental change to the sport.
