The Cincinnati Reds are not only likely to trade one of their starting pitchers this off-season. Fox Sports reporter Ken Rosenthal says they're also shopping slugging outfielder Jay Bruce.
Rosenthal said one potential landing place for Bruce is San Diego where the Padres have been talking with the Reds about a deal.
Bruce is under contract for $12 million for the 2015 season and $12.5 for the 2016 season. That pales in comparison to fellow Cincinnati sluggers Joey Votto who is owed $211 million over the next nine years and Brandon Phillips who has $40 million coming over the next three years.
Cincinnati's $114 million payroll last year was the highest, by far, in franchise history.
