All-Star Animals: Dog team will perform at Petlover event

As downtown St. Louis heats up with All-Star Game events, spectators can cool down at the St. Louis Petlover Coalition's All-Star Event from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the General American Building, 700 Market St. in St. Louis.

Pet lovers can adopt pets from the Animal Protective Association, and catch one of three performances by the Purina Incredible Dog team. Nearly 20 area pet shelter and rescue organization groups will be represented.

The Purina Incredible Dog team (as seen on "The Late Show with David Letterman") will perform at 12:30, 1:30 and 2:30 p.m.

Other highlights:

* Drawing to win a year's supply of Purina pet food

* Free T-shirts for the first 500 visitors

* APA "Homeward Bound" Mobile Unit, a 37-foot, climate-controlled animal shelter on wheels with dozens of pets in search of new homes, and Purina pet food coupons for those adopting on site

* Music, misting fans, refreshments, and entertainment for children - temporary tattoos, coloring books, and yo-yos
