Want to hear some Irish music? Metro-east band Celtica will be at St. Luke’s

Celtica, a metro-east based band that performs Irish and Celtic music, will perform from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Luke’s Parish Hall in Belleville. St. Luke’s will serve a corned beef and cabbage dinner.

Members include Paul Niesen, of Fairview Heights, guitar, Irish penny whistle and squeeze box; Eric Oistad, banjo and box accordion; Allison Niesen, of Belleville, whistle and vocals; Charlie Nesmith, of Bel-Nor, Mo., bodhran (hand drum), percussion; Cheryl Schaefer, of Collinsville, flute.

Other upcoming performances are:

4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Tgin Irish Pub in St. Louis.

7 to 9 p.m. April 7 at Roemer Topf Bavarian Restaurant in Mascoutah.

The band also will participate in the St. Louis Tionol, formerly Mississippi River Celtic Music Festival April 24-26 at locations around St. Louis. For more information visit tionol.org or call 314-578-1333.
