COUNTRY LEGENDS: A Tribute to the Country Music Legends show will be at 7 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Miners Theater, 204 W. Main St., Collinsville.

Audition tapes are being accepted from local singers who look and sound like a traditional country artist of the 1950s, 60s or 70s.

To qualify, send a CD or tape of you singing three songs of the artist that you think you sound like, along with a current picture that is no more than three-months old. Also, participants must be able to sing with the band, show up for practices, and, if chosen, sing the three songs on the CD or tape and dress as close as possible to the artist being portrayed.

On the CD/tape and the photo, include your name, address, phone number and e-mail address.

Auditions portraying Hank Williams Sr., Kitty Wells, Ernest Tubb and Loretta Lynn will not be accepted, as those are already taken.

FLIGHT EXPERIENCE: Liberty Belle, a restored World War II Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress, will offer public flights from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in St. Louis.

Flight experiences are $430.

4-H EVENT: The 4-H Food and Nutrition Exhibits and Demonstrations contest will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the Madison County Farm Bureau auditorium, 900 Hillsboro, Edwardsville.

The exhibition features healthy snacks, baked goods and more, all prepared by those ages 8 to 18.

YOUTH FUNDRAISER: St. Mary's is hosting a mad cow disease benefit to send children to Catholic youth conference.

There are eight wooden cows to put in people's yards for a price. Those that don't want them must buy insurance. One to eight cows can be bought for $10 per cow. Cows are dressed in bikinis, hard hats, arrows sticking through their heads and others.

FREE CAMP: H.I.S. K.I.D.S. is offering a camp July 6-31 for area children who have affected by cancer.

The free camp is a week-long camp for children with cancer and their siblings, leadership training for teens ages 15 to 17 and additional leadership training and opportunities for teens 18 and older.

FASHION PARTY: The St. Louis Chapter of the American Sewing Guild is sponsoring a DIYStyle Party from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at St. Louis Community College-Florissant Valley, 3400 Pershall Road, Ferguson, Mo.

Registration is $20 at the door. Attendees will have the opportunity to create fashion items for themselves.

HOT MOVIES: Wehrenberg Theatres is bringing back the "Heat Advisory Days" to help residents beat the summer heat.

From now until Aug. 31, all adult matinee tickets are available for child prices whenever a heat advisory is in effect.
