BENEFIT KICKBALL GAME: A Belleville kickball championship game will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 18 at the Belleville Jaycees Park, 750 W. H St., Belleville.

The cost is $10 per player and teams can be from 10 to 15 people.

Proceeds from the event will go towards the purchase of school supplies for Belleville elementary students.

Players must be 18 or older.

COLLINSVILLE CAMP: Summer camp for children is being offered at the Collinsville Area Recreation District.

Specialty camp is for children going into second through seventh grade. Camp is held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Circus Skills Camp is held July 20-24.

Campers must bring a lunch, swim suit, towel and sunscreen daily. Registration for these camps are due July 13. To register, call 346-7529.

BELLEVILLE OKTOBERFEST: The annual Belleville Oktoberfest will be held Sept. 25-26 in downtown Belleville.

Businesses, groups and organizations are being sought to participate. Vendors can rent a single space of 12-by-12 for $250 or a double space for $325 which includes electrical hook up. Food vendors are not limited to German style foods and vendors are not limited to food items.

FIDDLE CONTEST: The Illinois State Old-Time fiddle contest will be held Saturday at the Moultrie-Douglas Fairgrounds in Arthur.

The contest starts at 1 p.m. and registration is from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The entry fee is $6. For information, call (217) 795-2035.

PET ADOPTIONS: The Highland Animal Shelter will host its monthly Adopt-A-Pet Day from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at PetSmart, Highway 50, O'Fallon. All adult dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, micro chipped and up to date on vaccinations.

COLLINSVILLE RUN/WALK: The Colllinsville Area Recreation District will host the Dash & Splash, a 5K run and walk beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday at Splash City Family Waterpark, 10 Gateway Drive, Collinsville.

The race is open to all ages.

A private party for participants will follow the event inside Splash City.

BOWLING FUNDRAISER: CASA will host a bowling fundraiser at 6 p.m. Saturday at St. Clair Bowl, 5950 Old Collinsville Road, Fairview Heights.

This 9-pin no tap event begins with registration at 5 p.m. There will be a silent auction and 50/50 drawings. The cost is $20 per peson for a 5-person team.

SUMMER SING: The Belleville Philharmonic Chorale is inviting vocalists to their annual Summer Sing.

Summer Sing will begin with registration from 7 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Philharmonic Hall, 116 N. Jackson St., Belleville.

Vivaldi's "Magnificat" will be held Monday and Haydn's "Paukenmesse" will be held July 20.

The registration fee is $5 each evening.

Intermission and refreshments are offered during rehearsal, followed by a run through performance with soloists. For information, call Robert Howard, chorale director, at 234-8079 or e-mail bellphil22@sbcglobal.net.

BAND CAR WASH: The Belleville East High School Marching Lancers band will hold its second car wash wars from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Car washes will be held at Advance Auto Parts at 924 Carlyle Avenue and at 4203 N. Belt West, both in Belleville, and at AutoZone at 918 Lincoln Highway, Fairview Heights.

Funds raised at the car washes support the bands programs at the school.
