FOOD DRIVE: An end of summer food drive will be at Dr. Dan Khampraseut's office, 530 Fullerton Road, Suite B, Swansea through Dec. 31.
Donations of 10 canned goods, other non-perishable food items, or $20, can be dropped off during business hours. Donations will go to the Violence Prevention Center. Those who donate will receive a gift of health pass from the office, which entitles donors to a consultation, exam and x-rays (if needed).
The office is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Thursday and from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday. The office is closed from noon to 2 p.m. for lunch; it is also closed Saturday and Sunday.

DIABETES CLASSES: Outpatient Nutrition Counseling Services at St. Elizabeth's Hospital is offering four Diabetes Conversation Map classes to be from 6 to 8 p.m. each Monday in October in the cafeteria conference room at the hospital.
Classes are limited to 8 to 10 people. The cost is $45 for all four classes if pre-paid at the first session or $15 per person, per session and $10 for each additional guest.

TRAIL WALK: The Watershed Nature Center 5K train run and 1-mile trail walk will be Saturday at the center, 1591 Tower Ave., Edwardsville.
The 5K trail run and walk begins at 9 a.m. with registration starting at 8 a.m. All proceeds benefit the Watershed Nature Center.
Registration fees are $10 for children, $20 5K and $15 for the mile walk.

FARM DAY: Fall Farm Day will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Willoughby Heritage Farm, 631 Willoughby Lane, Collinsville.
Visitors can visit with farm animals, take part in scavenger hunts, listen to bluegrass music, purchase and paint pumpkins and gourds, try antique tools and enjoy a pig roast.
Admission is free. There is a charge for refreshments and the pumpkins and gourds.
Rock the Barn, a barn dance with modern country hits, will be from 7 to 11 p.m. The cost is $5 per person and $20 maximum per family.
DYSLEXIA WALK: The annual Southern Illinois Walk for Dyslexia will be Saturday at the Masonic Learning Center, 1549 Frank Scott Parkway West, Belleville.
The walk benefits children with dyslexia.
All money raised goes directly to supporting the children in the program.
