What qualifies you for this position?
“The past eight years on the city council have given me great experience in the job and have demonstrated my dedication to fulfill the obligations of the job. My record shows that I have the ability to be an independent thinker, vote my conviction and work well with others even if we may disagree on an issue. My 28 years as a local business owner and previous leadership positions all bring a great asset to the council in fiscal responsibility, decision making, citizen interaction, enables me to work well with others, to be an organized person and effective communicator.”
What is the top issue in your race, and how would you address it?
“Each candidate has previously stated what they feel is a top issue facing the city. In my estimation the current biggest decision/problem is increasing the reliability and capacity of our electrical system while having competitive rates with other entities such as Ameren. In my opinion this needs to done with the intent of maintaining our current city owned and managed electrical distribution system. I would address it by taking a more in-depth look at the cost of service study just released and further studying any recommendations from the city’s electrical engineers.”
