What qualifies you for this position?
“I have a master’s degree from Maryville University. I have over 25 years of administrative experience with the 20th Judicial Circuit Court Services and Probation Department. I developed and managed million dollar budgets. I have experience with union contract negotiations and personnel management. In addition to my education and work experience, I believe my number one qualification is being the true independent candidate for alderman in Ward 2. I am not affiliated with any party or the current administration. My allegiance is to the residents of Ward 2. I have a sincere desire to serve and will answer to the residents.”
What is the top issue in your race, and how would you address it?
“Public safety is the number one issue in the alderman race. Finding the money in the budget to put more police officers on the street is what I will work to do. The residents were told the 0.25 percent sales tax would be used to hire more police officers. This has not been done. The revenue the city receives from the video gaming should be used to hire more police officers. Reducing crime and feeling safe within our community is not only important for our residents but also for the people who visit Belleville and patronize our local businesses.”
