What qualifies you for this position?

“I served nearly 22 years in the United States Army Reserves from 1983 to 2005. As a non- commission officer and top sergeant of the 871st Transportation Detachment, I provided leadership, mentorship and guidance to the soldiers under my care. Upon completion of my last mobilization in support of Operation Noble Eagle and Enduring Freedom, I continued my service to country as a federal contractor. Through my career I have gained experience reviewing policy and publications, facilitating collaborative working groups and meetings, and managing a multimillion dollar budget.”

What is the top issue in your race, and how would you address it?

“The city has been too rash in its pursuits and too defensive against critique. We need to slow down and be more thorough and detailed in our planning of project. We have streets that are over a 100 years old and other streets we repave every 10 years. Yes the old brick roads need maintenance but you don’t have to be an engineer to know a thin layer of black top on top of the brick is a facade not a repair. The details are especially important when you use citizens tax dollars to sweeten the deal for developers.”
