What qualifies you for this position?

“The alderman’s job is to represent the people. The constituents of Ward 5 have made it clear that crime is the number one issue, and they want their streets, sidewalks and curbs fixed. We need better budget planning and tax increment financing reform to focus on infrastructure. I have over 25 years of experience working within local government. I have a master’s degree in public administration; and bachelor of science degree majoring in government/political science with minor degrees in business administration, speech and communications. I will use my education and experience to continue to make a difference for Ward 5.”

What is the top issue in your race, and how would you address it?

“The top issues important to Ward 5 residents are: crime and infrastructure repairs. I have made motions for more police officers with the quarter cent sales tax that was promised by the mayor. The mayor has had these motions defeated. My opponent is backed by the mayor. It is my hope that the voters will retain me as their alderman and elect true independents so we can force budget workshops to focus on the people’s needs: crime and street repairs. More street repairs can be done using tax increment financing dollars rather than using it for corporate welfare for big business.”
