What qualifies you for this position?
“As a native East St. Louisian, I am fully committed to the city’s success. I am a proud resident of East St. Louis; I live and work in the city that I love and we are leading a very promising re-birth of East St. Louis and I want to continue to work for a city that I am proud to call home, a city that is on it’s way to becoming vibrant and thriving, a city that has a safe, healthy, and productive citizenry, but above all a city that works.”
What is the top issue in your race, and how would you address it?
“Housing is one of the most pressing issues we face as a city. Many families feel forced to look outside of East St. Louis for quality and affordable homes while others face homelessness — these are not choices we want any of our residents to face. I want to work to accelerate production of more affordable housing, preserving what we have, while helping residents prepare for the future by creating quality educational options, targeted training programs, and good jobs so more families can call East St. Louis home. By providing affordable housing options, we can begin to promote economic activity and connect our neighborhoods and region to ensure the vitality of our city for years to come.”
