What qualifies you for this position?
“I have been a lifelong resident of New Athens. I attended NACU 60 graduating valedictorian of my class. I furthered my education earning a bachelor of science in accounting from SIUC. My husband and I have raised five children all of them attending NACU 60. I currently volunteer my time assisting the NA Teen Center and PTO. The best attribute I possess qualifying me for this position is my ability to think and act independently. My financial degree as well as my former work experience at a CPA firm and law office have given me a well-rounded background in adhering to policies and procedures to ensure fiscal responsibility for our school.”
What is the top issue in your race, and how would you address it?
“The top issues include meeting the needs of our teachers expediently, restoring a sense of community, balancing out the misaligned power of the current board and re-establishing a sense of fairness in decision making for students and district employees. I plan to tackle these issues by investigating on my own accord and acting as a voice for the people with children in this district. My vote will first and foremost be determined by what is fiscally sound for our district. In lending my ear and time I hope to build a new bridge built on integrity and respect for all.”
