What qualifies you for this position?
“In our family business, I’ve preformed many duties, including, payroll, dispatching, problem solving, and negotiating with the post office. But what most qualifies me for the school board is my 10 years of continuous work with the New Athens children. This includes being a Girl Scout leader, the secretary of the NA Little League, and helping run the NA Teen Center. I am an advocate for children. I’m a smart, strong, capable mother that will work hard for our teachers, our children, and parents.”
What is the top issue in your race, and how would you address it?
“I am running to be a strong voice for the teachers, children and parents. I will listen and do the research to make the best decisions for our district. To start with, the school board needs transparency, so I will post the board minutes monthly. I plan to work to get our teachers a raise, and hire a guidance counselor. I’ll fix our grading scale so its comparable with surrounding schools. I’ll improve our school lunches. My goal is the best education and school environment for our students and teachers.”
