What qualifies you for this position?

“I’ve served eight years on the OTHS 203 Board of Education and used my passion for education and service back to the community to affect positive changes for the district. I worked with the board and superintendent to navigate tough economic times that kept the district financially healthy and maintained excellence in education for our students. The board’s efforts have maintained OTHS in the top 10 percent of academic achievement while being the 93rd lowest out of 100 high school districts in operating costs per pupil. I love serving the community and students.”

What is the top issue in your race, and how would you address it?

“The financial crunch the Illinois state is in as it affects public education. The legislature is proposing major changes to school funding, as well as continuing to fund education below statutory limits. I want to continue to help maintain a steady hand as OTHS moves forward and look forward to the challenge to find ways to keep OTHS fiscally strong and academically superior.”
