Learn about eagles on Eagle Day Sunday at World Bird Sanctuary

You can celebrate eagles from around the world on Eagle Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at The World Bird Sanctuary in Valley Park, Mo.

Learn more about these majestic creatures as well as fun raptor facts with presentations from naturalists throughout the day. Live eagle shows will be presented in the amphitheater. Bring your camera for a photo opportunity with a bald eagle, plus concession stands, tours of the wildlife hospital, a free kids crafts center, and eagle gifts and souvenirs. It’s sponsored by by Ameren Missouri.

Admission and parking are free. No reservations required. The sanctuary is at 125 Bald Eagle Ridge Road in Valley Park, Mo.

If you arrive an hour early you can attend keeper talks. Meet outside the wildlife hospital at 9 a.m. and join the keepers as they feed and water the birds. Learn what they are, how they got to the sanctuary and what they eat. Admission is free.
