What qualifies you for this position?
“My family and I have resided in the fourth ward for 58 years. My father was a WWII veteran; my mother, a beloved educator and community advocate. Their volunteer spirit instilled a moral imperative to leave our community a better place for the next generation. Unfortunately, local politics has reached a tipping point where that vision has faded from view. I want to help restore a sense of civility and rationality to our city council. I bring considerable business experience to the table, and an uncompromising commitment to the public trust. Together, we can move Belleville and the fourth ward forward.”
What is the top issue in your race, and how would you address it?
“In addition to what one might guess are the most obvious concerns in any election, a growing area of concern for residents on the west end is the fate of the $50M Shrine Development project. There is an attitude of utter disbelief that any current member of council would oppose what could potentially be one of the largest and most impactful economic developments in Belleville’s history. Here again, party politics has reached a tipping point, with some officials more interested in political gamesmanship, than what’s right. We must elect a city council that puts public interest first.”
