A prison inmate walked away from a worksite Tuesday morning and is now on the run, police say.
Jacob Dylan Martin, 22, is serving a five-year sentence in minimum security at Potosi Correctional Center in Washington County, Missouri. At about 10:15 a.m., Martin was on work release at a worksite about 18 miles south of Patton, Missouri when he reportedly walked away from the site.
Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Missouri Department of Corrections are working with a K-9 unit and the Corrections Emergency Response Team to find Martin.
Martin is serving a five-year sentence for two counts of first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle, second-degree burglary, and theft/stealing in Franklin County, as well as a concurrent three-year sentence for attempted first-degree tampering in Marion County.
He has previous convictions for driving while intoxicated, shoplifting and resisting arrest, according to the Missouri Department of Corrections.
