Calvary honors heroes

Calvary Lutheran Church in Belleville is honoring all heroes (police, firefighters, ambulance drivers and other first responders) and inviting their families for a fun event from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Activities will include a bounce house, fish pond, face painting, live animals, pony rides and emergency vehicle displays. Hot dogs, potato chips, ice cream cones and bottled water will be served. The evening will end with an ecumenical candlelight vigil thanking God for these heroes. The church is at 6606 W. Main St. For more information, call 618-397-4989.

New Life expands into Edwardsville

New Life in Christ Interdenominational Church in O’Fallon will begin offering Sunday morning services at AMC Showplace Edwardsville 12 on Sunday under the name New Life in Christ Church North. Bishop Geoffrey V. Dudley will lead the 80-minute service, beginning at 10:10 a.m. The church was founded in 2003. The theater is at 6633 Center Grove Road. Healing service at Shrine

A Healing Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the main church at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville. Anyone seeking healing, regardless of religious affiliation, is welcome. For more information, call 618-277-0416.
