Beagles are typically smart, friendly and loving. Sophia is no different. This beagle mix is mild-mannered, gets along with cats and children and will become devoted to her owners.
Sophia was brought to the Belleville Area Humane Society in June after she was found as a stray by Animal Control. Her exact age is unknown, but the staff at the shelter believe that Sophia is somewhere around 7 years old. Sophia was immediately enrolled in the Cranky Canine boot camp where she learned how to play well with other dogs. The camp is an 8-week program that teaches dogs basic obedience commands such as sit and shake, and allows them to become more comfortable with human interaction.
Sophia can be shy at first, but after a few days with her new family, she will act as if she has known you for years. Make sure you have plenty of doggie treats available because Sophia enjoys showing off her obedience skills in hopes that she will receive a reward. Hold some jerky in your hand and watch Sophia sit and shake in a manner of seconds.
Families that enjoy life in the slow lane and taking it easy would be the perfect owners for Sophia. She would enjoy laying on your lap or sitting nearby while you read.
Sophia is neutered and up to date on all of his shots.
